# Credits & Billing

> Plans, credit pricing, and how to manage your balance

## Subscription plans

All plans include full access to Gooseworks features. Subscription credits reset each billing cycle and do not roll over.

To view or change your plan, go to **Settings** > **Billing**.

## Credit packs

Need more credits mid-cycle? Purchase a one-time top-up:

| 10,000 credits | \$100 |

Purchased credits do not expire.

## How credits work

Credits are consumed whenever Goose takes an action. All agents in your organization share a single credit pool.

The exact cost depends on the complexity of the request. Longer conversations and tool-heavy workflows consume more credits.

## Free trial

Every new account receives **1,000 free credits** on signup. These let you explore the full platform before committing to a plan.

## Running out of credits

When your balance hits zero, Goose will let you know it can't process new messages. To keep working:

1. Go to **Settings** > **Billing** in the Gooseworks app.
2. Purchase a credit pack or upgrade your plan.
3. Credits are available immediately after purchase.

You'll also receive a low-balance alert before you hit zero.

## Bring your own key (BYOK)

If you prefer to use your own Anthropic API key, add `ANTHROPIC_API_KEY` in **Settings** > **Environment Variables**. BYOK usage does not consume Gooseworks credits for eligible LLM calls.

Goose-hosted tools and media generation can still consume Goose credits.

## Viewing your usage

Go to **Settings** > **Billing** to see:

* Your current credit balance
* Usage history by agent and action type
* Subscription details and renewal date

## FAQ

**Can I buy credit packs without a subscription?**

No. Credit pack top-ups require an active subscription plan (Starter, Pro, or Business). If you're on the free trial, subscribe to a plan first — then you can purchase additional credits at any time.

**Do subscription credits roll over?**

No. Monthly credits reset each billing cycle. Purchased credit packs do not expire and are separate from your subscription credits.

**What happens if I cancel my subscription?**

Your agent stops processing new messages once the balance hits zero. Any unused purchased credit pack credits remain in your account.

**Can I use my own LLM API key instead of credits?**

Yes — add `ANTHROPIC_API_KEY` in **Settings** > **Environment Variables**. Eligible LLM calls will use your key and won't consume Gooseworks credits.
